Golden Birthday Boba Party

I haven't had time to do much other than work, so my birthday kind of snuck up on me. I love throwing parties though and still wanted to do something, so I decided to organize a party last minute. I decided to have a make your own boba tea party in the park for my birthday. I wanted to give my friends a chance to meet our new pup, Boba, while drinking boba! I decided to have it on Labor Day weekend since I figured the Golden Gate Park would be nice and empty and it would give those who didn't have a plan that day something fun to do.

In order to make this happen, I ordered tea from my favorite boba place, Boba Guys. They have a tea company called Tea People. I ordered way too many flavors, but I loved all of them. I brewed the tea as described on the bag. I made simple syrup to add to the tea. I premixed the tea with simple syrup and Strauss half and bottled them up. Luckily we had a bunch of bottles from when Grant got into home brewing beer. In addition to the premixed milk tea, I also wanted to offer plain tea without syrup or milk for those that wanted to do the proportions themselves, which I think worked out really well and was good for those that didn't want half and half and wanted almond milk instead. After bottling up the milk tea and tea, I used a gold paint pen to label them.

For the boba balls, I found a recipe on how to cook boba perfectly and followed her recommendation of where to get real boba. I ordered them from Nuts.com. It actually came a lot faster than I anticipated, which was awesome. I followed her instructions step by step and they came out great.

The boba tea bar consisted of milk tea, tea, boba, half and half, almond milk, and extra simple syrup. I bought boba cups and straws from Amazon and some gold decorations from Shop Sweet Lulu. I was running late to setup, but everything came together. Here's the only shot I had of the party itself. Fun times were had though. You can't go wrong having a party at Golden Gate Park. I haven't decided what I'll do for my 30th birthday party next year, but I'm excited to start thinking of ideas. Let me know if you have any questions about my golden birthday boba party!
